Wellness Committee

The purpose of the OPUSD Wellness Council is to promote health and wellness among students, staff, and families as outlined in the OPUSD Student Wellness Board Policy and Administrative Regulations. This will be done by continuing to improve the nutritional value of food sold and offered in our schools, nutrition and fitness education, physical education, and by creating school environments that promote and protect children’s health. This continuing advisory board will monitor and guide program development and curriculum, organize school-specific programs, perform annual evaluations, and participate in the development, review, update, and implementation of OPUSD's Wellness Policy.

Parents/guardians, students, food service employees, physical education teachers, school health professionals, Board members, school administrators, health educators, curriculum directors, counselors, before- and after-school program staff, health practitioners, and/or other members of the public who are interested in school health issues are all invited to become a part of the Wellness Council.
